Texas Parks and Wildlife is now taking applications for 2014-2015 drawn hunt applications.

With more than 80 areas around the state in more than two dozen different hunt categories, hunters will have many options available. Each hunt has its own deadline listed on the site.

Anyone interested can apply at www.tpwd.texas.gov/drawnhunts. The public can apply to hunt mule deer, alligators, hogs, pronghorn, white-tail deer, turkey and more. You can find a full catalog of all available hunt categories.

If you're not looking to travel far, many hunts take place right here in East Texas. A map of the locations can be seen in the online catalog.

There are no residency restrictions; Texas, U.S. residents and non-residents can apply. Youth applicants with permits between 8 and 16-years-old must have a supervising adult of at least 18.

Applications are no longer accepted by mail. Drawings will be held the next business day after each deadline.
