Quitman, Texas (KETK) — In just a few days, fans, musicians and some of the best anglers around will descend upon Lake Fork in Quitman for the Toyota Texas Bass Classic.
A few of the Texas pros even hail from East Texas: Todd Faircloth, of Jasper, Shinichi Fukae, of Palestine and 2008 champion Kelly Jordan, of Palestine. The defending champion will also be there to defend his title, Keith Combs, of Huntington.
According to the tournament's website, with $250,000 in funding from this year’s event supporting TPWD programs including the Neighborhood Fishin’ Program and the State-Fish Art Contest, the charitable impact from the TTBC will total $2 million in donations serving the entire state of Texas. Most notably, Woldert Pond in Tyler, a short distance from Lake Fork, is one of the latest Neighborhood Fishin’ projects to be implemented with support from the TTBC. - See more at: http://www.toyotatexasbassclassic.com/2014/05/06/toyota-texas-bass-class...
