Michelle Mills was running on the track by Robert E. Lee Saturday morning, and got a little extra reason to move when she ran into a copperhead.  

Runners need to be aware that snakes can be out sunning themselves this time of year, even in town.  This is Texas, so even if you are not running in the country, you can see snakes.

Please be aware of your surroundings as you are running and where you are putting your feet.

Kimberly, does the same advice hold true for those who may be hiking or walking?
There was a story last year of a man finding one on his doorstep when he went out one morning.
Does that mean they could be anywhere & EVERYONE should keep their eyes open?
A gentle reminder to parents watching young children in playgrounds might get some thinking.
