Red Springs, Texas (KETK) — A two-story home in the Red Springs district of Smith County was destroyed by fire late Thursday night.
Around 11:30 p.m., volunteer firefighters with the Winona, Red Springs and Chapel Hill fire departments were dispatched to the 5300 block of County Road 334. At the time, Winona and Red Springs firefighters were on the scene of house fire in Winona, which they had just extinguished. When firefighters arrived on scene, the house was "75-percent involved," one firefighter said.
None of the residents were home when the blaze sparked and no injuries were reported by first responders.
Firefighters extinguished the flames just before midnight. The two-story house was destroyed.
One firefighter said the blaze may have been caused by a nearby burn pile. An official cause will be determined by the Smith County fire marshal.
