Panola College board gets a look at construction, renovation plans
Carthage — Panola College trustees recently got their first glimpse of how $35 million will change the look of the campus.
Board members this month were presented with preliminary plans for new construction and renovation being financed by a bond issue approved by voters in May.
“What you see here is pretty much what will be built, but colors and other aesthetic details are not finalized, yet,” college President Greg Powell said as the board viewed architects renderings of the buildings. “We will ensure it blends and compliments the rest of the campus.”
A new student life center and science-health science center are the centerpieces of a facilities program the college developed over the past few years to address the college’s growth, its aging infrastructure and parking needs.
