Partnership aims to simplify travel across East Texas

A two-county partnership that took a step forward in Longview on Monday envisions a traveler being able to get from a house in Longview to a flight out of Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport, without the interstate drive and long-term parking expense.

East Texas Regional Transportation Partners could connect that traveler with the nearest bus stop to a shuttle departing the Longview multi-modal travel center for East Texas Regional Airport for takeoff to the big airport in Irving.

That’s an early goal of Gregg and Smith counties for the partnership, a grant-seeking cooperative of the two counties, Northeast Texas Regional Mobility Authority, the East Texas Council of Governments and NDMJ, a regional cab company based in Tyler.
