TYLER — Two weeks ago PATH, People Attempting To Help, announced they were experiencing the worst financial crisis in 25 years of service to the community. When the announcement was made they had less than one month of funds in their operating account.
This comes at a time when PATH is busier than it has ever been. More than a thousand extra families have come in for support this year, and 3000 emergency services have been provided in the month of June alone.
PATH announced Tuesday they have received enough in donations to continue to operate for a couple more months.
"We are ok for a couple of months now which means we can continue to offer these important services but this could happen again," said PATH Director Christina Fulsom.
The group is facing problems on two fronts; as donations decline, the number of services provided to the community is increasing.
