Patriot Guard leads ETX Marine to final resting place

An East Texas soldier who recently died in Hiwaii will be escorted from Dallas to his final resting place in Henderson on Wednesday.

Cpl. Trey Jablonowski, 23, of Henderson, was found in his barracks room last week in Kanaoe, Hawaii, unresponsive. The Marine had served in Afghanistan and South Korea.

Upon his family's request, Patriot Guard Riders (PGR) will help bring Jablonowski from DFW to Henderson. The North Texas PGR will lead the procession to Canton, and then the East Texas PGR will continue from there to the Crawford-A. Crim Funeral Home. The ride begins at 10:15 a.m.

Among the awards Jablonowski received were the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Korean Defense Service Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Combat Action Ribbon, Sea Service Deployment Ribbon with two bronze stars Marine Corps Good Conduct Medal, and the Afghanistan Campaign Medal with two bronze stars. 

Jablonowsky graduated from Henderson High School in 2008.
