Houston, Texas (FOX) — For the first time since controversy over her use of racial slurs, celebrity chef, Paula Deen is stepping out into the public spotlight.
Sobbing into a kleenex, before an enthusiastic crowd at the "Metropolitan Cooking and Entertaining Show" Deen admitted she'd learned a lot about herself, since the scandal broke.
"This is my first time out in three months. And uh, I'm so alone that the one place that I would want to make my first step back out was Texas."
Paula Deen's show on the "Food Network" got canceled and she lost lucrative endorsements. After admitting in a civil deposition that she'd used racial slurs in the past. That lawsuit alleging racial and sexual harassment was eventually settled.
Now Deen's fans are hoping she will settle back into another television kitchen and keep on cooking.
"Y'know i think it was just really blown out of proportion and poor Paula, she's just trying to do the right thing and be honest and she just really got crucified for it."
"I think she's fabulous. And i think everybody should give her a second chance."
