HAILEY, Idaho (AP) - The supply of yellow ribbons in Hailey, Idaho, could run out pretty soon.
That's according to the director of the town's Chamber of Commerce. The organization has been coordinating a show of support for Pfc. Bowe Bergdahl.
The Pentagon confirmed over the weekend that Bergdahl was captured in Afghanistan about three weeks ago by the Taliban. The soldier appeared in a video posted online over the weekend.
But neighbors and others in the community have known for weeks that Bergdahl had been captured.
The county sheriff read a statement from Bergdahl's parents this morning. They say they have been overwhelmed by the outpouring of support they've received during what they call an extremely difficult situation. They say their "sole focus" is seeing their son return safely home.
