People in 5 Texas counties can get Karl help
CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas (AP) - People in five Texas counties
impacted by storms and flooding linked to Hurricane Karl are
eligible to seek low-interest federal disaster loans.
The funding was announced Thursday by the Small Business
A disaster loan outreach center opens Friday in Corpus Christi.
Gov. Rick Perry this week requested a disaster declaration to
clear the way for federal assistance.
The loans are available for residents and business operators in
Aransas, Jim Wells, Kleberg, Nueces and San Patricio counties.
Flooding on Sept. 18 began swamping parts of the Corpus Christi
area, two days after Hurricane Karl made landfall in Mexico.
