Tyler,TX — East Texans will soon see alcohol sales in the ballot this coming November.

Today, Economist, Ray Perryman, presented a study to the East Texas community, a study showing that the sale of alcohol will significantly boost the economy.

In July, the Smith County Commissioners Court approve alcohol sales on the ballet.

Many East Texans wonder how this vote of approving alcohol sales will benefit the community.

The vote will impact the decision of whether beer and wine should be sold in grocery stores in Smith County and Tyler.

Perryman says, alcohol sales will bring more than 5-million dollars of tax money, and will create more jobs.

" Tyler is a big retail sector, consequently it pulls in people from a lot of different places. The majority would be retail jobs, because that's the first place you'll see the impact but after that it spills out to the entire community," says Perryman.

Chairman, Bob Westbrook, of Tyler Chamber of Commerce says, Tyler voters are an educated group because they are so passionate about their community."

"Positive poll numbers that have come out surrounding this issue, they feel feel very confident that's it's going to pass, so I'm really excited," says Westbrook.
