Pioneer students in LeTourneau University’s civil engineering program among Saturday graduates
Longview — Hundreds of brand-new LeTourneau University graduates circled around with friends and family Saturday, hugging, laughing and crying on the lawn outside the Belcher Center.
But the annual spontaneous celebration had at least one new element — under the shade of a nearby tree, four graduates with civil engineering degrees chatted about their time at the university and their future plans.
Philip Cowles, Benjamin Harclerode, Joshua Heidorn and David Stanley were four of the 11 graduates who comprised the first, full civil engineering graduating class in the school’s history.
