Pipe Organ Festival returns to East Texas
Kilgore — The third annual East Texas Pipe Organ Festival begins tonight and people from across the United States have made the trek to Northeast Texas to celebrate the famous sound of the Aeolian-Skinner pipe organ.
A four-day event, the festival features five Aeolian-Skinner pipe organs designed by Roy Perry (1906-1978).
Paul Marchesano, a native of Philadelphia, Pa. and assistant organizer for the event, said the festivities will officially begin with a 7 :30 p.m. concert at First Presbyterian Church in Kilgore, where Perry was organist from 1932-72.
