TYLER - Three robberies in two days have been put Tyler convenience stores on edge and police say they need your help nabbing the
suspect(s).
It all started around 4 a.m. Sunday morning - when officers say a man held-up a Food Fast Store along Troup Highway.
This is what police say happened: A black man, between 5-10 and six-feet-tall entered the store and demanded money from the clerk.
The clerk told Tyler Police and the surveillance video also showed that the crook was wearing a plastic bag over his face and another bag over his hand - as if hiding a gun.
He ran off toward Kensington with some of the store's cash.
About three hours later - a robber used a similar approach and as the first one and struck a Speedy Food Mart in the 2700 block of E. Fifth Street. Based on video surveillance - he looks almost identical to the first robber.
He entered the store about 7 a.m., once again with a plastic bag over his hand to hide what appeared to be a weapon. Also, once again, he took off running on foot.
The third convenience store robbery happened Monday morning.
This one was at a Food Fast in the 1700 block of E. Front.
Police say around 1:40 in the morning - a black man wearing a green shirt over his hand and a white cloth wrapped around his face, entered the store, demanded case and then ran out the door.
Officers say the crook had a white towel wrapped around his hand.
