Police searching for alleged ETX purse thieves

Lufkin Crime Stoppers is asking for the public's helkp in identifying two people involved in a purse theft at a local business.

At around 2:00 p.m. Thursday, a purse was reported stolen from the parking lot at Sam's Club. Cameras captured the crime and photos of the believed criminals inside the store.

The videos shows one person approach the victim as she put merchandise inside her vehicle. When the victim walked away from her shopping cart, the thief grabbed her purse and ran to a waiting vehicle.

The victim was not injured and her purse was eventually recovered, but the bandits took the money from inside her bag. A witness followed the thieves, but but lost sight of the vehicle on Old Diboll Highway.

The alleged thieves are described as white males. The first man was wearing a white t-shirt and a black Under Armor brand. The second person was wearing a green t-shirt with a white logo and “ROCKAWAY” on its front was the driver of the getaway vehicle. The suspects’ vehicle is a white, older model, single-cab Ford truck.
