Police: Tyler woman lied about being stabbed

In an interview with Tyler Police Investigators, Rebecca Jones admitted that she lied about being attacked and stabbed. The incident never happened. There is no unidentified suspect and no need for further public concern.
Jones is facing potential criminal charges for False Alarm or Report, a class A misdemeanor, and False Report to a Peace Officer, a class B misdemeanor.
UPDATE : Police tell KETK crews on scene that 39-year-old Rebecca Jones came home to her house in the 800 block of Chilton to find an unknown man inside.
Police say that the intruder stabbed Jones with an unknown object and ran away.
Jones was taken to a local hospital with superficial wounds and is expected to be released soon.
Police are still looking for the man who allegedly assaulted her. He is described as a heavy-set white man with brown hair. He is reportedly wearing a navy blue shirt and blue jeans.

According to information from Tyler Police, they were called to an aggravated assault with a deadly weapon just before 4:00pm on Friday.
