TYLER - The reactions to the President's announcement on Friday have already begun to concern some East Texans.

" I think we should take care of our own first instead of everybody else."

President Obama addressed the nation saying that he was issuing an executive order that would halt the deportation of young illegal immigrants.

"Effective immediately the Department of Homeland Security is taking steps to lift the shadow of deportation from these young people," President Obama said in his speech on Friday.

The requirements for the President's new policy include:

Illegal immigrants who came to the United States before the age of sixteen and younger than thirty. Those with with no criminal record, lived in the U.S. for at least five continuous years, and have graduated from high school, earned a G.E.D. or served in the military.

Representative Louie Gohmert was one of many who we're critical of the presidents plan. He weighed in on the issue on Friday.

"This is all about the November elections and getting votes from people who are illegally here."
