Remember Your Voting Rules

November 4, 2008 - 2:29pm
TYLER - As you head to the polls on Tuesday to cast your vote, there are a few laws you need to remember.
With heavy turnout predicted, you must be in line by 7 p.m. or you can not vote. If you are in line before 7 p.m., they must allow you to cast your vote, even if you do not get to the front of the line by 7.
All materials must be presented in Spanish and English. If needed, you can bring a translator.
Texas Code also says an employee must be given time off to vote without any penalty if you are scheduled to work throughout voting hours.
