Van— State Representative Dan Flynn of Van is working on a bill that would protect school teachers if they are involved in a violent crime at school.

This is the third time Representative Flynn has tried to pass this type of bill.

Flynn says the fatal stabbing of a John Tyler High School teacher last month makes the importance of the bill obvious.

Flynn also co-authored the Castle Doctrine, which gives car and homeowners the right to defend their property.
