East Texans React to latest Rasmussen Poll on Taxes
March 27, 2009 - 6:22am
Tyler—
Today's Question of The Day from KTBB gets East Texans reacting to a new poll about what Americans think about paying taxes.

Pay as you go is a painful way to go with some people. We now owe over a Trillion in over extended governement expenses this past 8 years, are these same people willing to fork over enough taxes to make up for what they have suppported? Are they willing to go flat tax, with no deductions, no loopholes? That also includes striking out the business loophole of has a Cabbrian address to evade taxes. That should be the next poll.

13 months agoJudging from the comments, it sounds as if a lot of people want something for nothing, which is one reason our country is in this mess right now. Everyone wants services, benefits and entitlements but no one wants to pay for them. There ARE people who do not pay enough taxes by utilizing loopholes, deductions and write-offs. Most tax breaks can only be utilized by the wealthy; working folks generally do not have enough discretionary income to take advantage of these breaks. A flat tax? Sure, just eliminate the social security income cap so that we ALL pay the same percentage of social security taxes.
