November 12, 2008 - 7:54pm
UNDATED - A little more than 5-million Texas voters cast their ballots early this November election.
That's a state record. The Secretary of State's office says people liked the convenience of early voting.
Since so many peole voted early, lines were shorter on Election Day.
Administrators say, in general, it helped make November 4th polling go smoothly.
More than 8-million votes were cast in Texas in the Presidential race.
