President Obama Defends Health Care Reform
UNDATED—President Obama starts this week with his first speech to a United Nations general assembly in New York on Monday.
The President then travels to Pittsburgh to host a meeting with the world leaders of the 20 biggest economies. Meanwhile, leading health care legislation faces a big test on Capitol Hill.
On Sunday, the President appeared on five news shows focusing on the health care debate. He said requiring uninsured Americans to buy coverage, as the leading senate measure does, is a needed fix
"You and I and every American out there who has health insurance and are paying their premiums responsibly every month, they've got to pick up the cost for emergency room care when one of those people gets sick," said the President.
However, republicans like Sen. Lindsey Graham insists paying for health care reform is easier said than done.
"When he talks about how you pay for it, that we're going to get $300 billion savings from medicare and medicaid, we've never done that before," said the Republican Senator from South Carolina.
NBC's Brooke Hart reports from Washington, D.C.

I beilive that President Obamas' health care reform is a good thing. I am for the reform to an extent. I can see both sides of the argument out there about it. There may be people that cant afford to get insurance. But the millions apon millions who there is nothing wrong and that are able to work should . Now there are millions of people out there that can't work that is understandable, Due to medical illness, or handicap. But for the most part I think that the bill should be passed, and that Mr. Obamas health reform should be in effect.
