Polygamist group member gets 6-year prison term

SAN ANGELO (AP) — A jury has sentenced a member of a polygamous West Texas group to six years in prison after finding him guilty of sexual abuse of a child.
Keith William Dutson Jr. could have been sentenced to up to 20 years in prison Tuesday. A Tom Green County jury returned its guilty verdict Tuesday in San Angelo against the 25-year-old member of the Fundamentalist Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.
The FLDS sanctions polygamous unions, which are not official civil marriages. The San Angelo Standard-Times reports Dutson would have been 20 at the time of the October 2005 ceremony. The girl would have been 15.
