flint — Firefighters tell KETK crews on the scene that a home next door to the original fire call also had reports of a fire.
Officials believe the lightning bolt may have jumped from the original house to the one next door.
The first house sustained about 25% damage from the fire, while the second only had minimal damage.
A family was in the first home at the time of the initial lightning strike, but managed to get out unharmed.
Firefighters checked other homes in the area to be sure the lightning strike did not affect them.
Firefighters are now going house to house checking attics for damage or signs of fire.
Crews are battling an attic fire in the 200 block of Cass Circle in Flint.
Witnesses tell KETK the fire was started by a lightning strike. Nobody was home when it occurred.
The street is currently blocked as firefighters try to put out flames.
No injuries have been reported.
