A Fast and Furious mess

Cue the circus music.
The circus in Washington D.C. just got a little more intense today.
We've been keeping up with Fast and Furious. That's the botched gun running scheme from the Obama administration.
You'll remember this was an ill-fated gun sting in which gun traffickers were allowed to buy guns in the U.S. and move them across the border to Mexico.
The ATF and DEA were supposed to be able to follow the bad guys because there were serial number on the guns and we could trace them back.
Then, those running the operation lost track of the firearms.
We find out later, two AK-47s from the sting gone bad were used to kill a U.S. border agent, then the alleged cover-up began.
There were brave ATF and DEA agents who became whistle blowers. They were shouted down and demoted.
Somewhat of an investigation was launched. But it has really gone nowhere.
The nations top cop, Eric Holder, today was going to be found in contempt by the committee running the investigation, then Congress is to vote on it if the committee found him in contempt.
This week, Holder made the feeble attempt to turn over incomplete records, but that was turned down by Chairman Issa.
So this morning, Attorney General Eric Holder got the president to invoke executive privilege and allow Holder off the hook.
But, if there is no wrong doing, why not turn everything over and fire the people who did things wrong?
The president is a fan of basketball and is using a maneuver used in that game. It's called "running out the clock" until the election.
There is something that stinks about this whole thing.
If the department did nothing wrong, what do the president and Holder have to hide?
That's my point of view, what's yours?
