Back in September 2001, three brave firemen stood atop rubble hoisting up the American flag after the 9/11 attacks.

Well, if there is one thing wrong with this country right now, this is it.

The Post reports, this iconic picture of firefighters raising the stars and stripes in the rubble of Ground Zero was nearly excluded from the 9/11 Memorial Museum, because it was "rah-rah" American, a new book says.

Michael Shulan, the museum's creative director, was among staffers who considered the Tom Franklin photograph too "rah-rah America," according to "Battle for Ground Zero" (St. Martin's Press) by Elizabeth Greenspan, which will be out next month.

"I really believe that the way America will look best, the way we can really do best, is to not be Americans so vigilantly and so vehemently," Shulan said.

What in the hell does that mean? "Too kitschy and too rah-rah."

We had just been blown up by religious zealots and were getting back on our feet and some firemen raised "Old glory?"

After hearing words as callus and uncaring as that, I hope he gets an earful from Americans who are not afraid to display patriotism and be a little "rah-rah" about our nation.

There are people like this museum director, who I guess, this freedom is free and we just abide and no one will deal with us.

Man, did he miss the point of everything and I hope than museum can find a new director with a little more "rah-rah" and and vehemently pledge their allegiance to this great nation.

That's my point of view, what's yours?

AMEN ! Neal. We need more rah-rah and less political correctness,

Like serfs in the dark ages US citizens can be picked up on the direction of an unknown authority, jailed, and tortured without a trial. They can be placed on a no fly list curtailing their right to travel with no explanation. Every electronic communication is intercepted and monitored by the NSA. If all that's too much trouble you can be executed without a trial. Rah, Rah for freedom!

Slightly reminiscent of when Alan Greenspan after the OKC bombing told Americans to stop showing their patriotism and get back to work.
