And so it begins...

California engineer Tom Waschura said, "I was laughing at Boehner, until the mail came today,"

We passed "Obamacare," and now we're finding out what's in it.

I won't even get into the computer problems today.

The following is from the San Jose Mercury News which is not exactly a republican paper:

Cindy Vinson and Tom Waschura are big believers in the Affordable Care Act. They vote independent and are proud to say they helped elect and re-elect President Barack Obama.

Yet, like many other Bay Area residents who pay for their own medical insurance, they were floored last week when they opened their bills: Their policies were being replaced with pricier plans that conform to all the requirements of the new health care law.

Vinson, of San Jose, will pay $1,800 more a year for an individual policy, while Waschura, of Portola Valley, will cough up almost $10,000 more for insurance for his family of four.

"Welcome to the club," said Robert Laszewksi, a prominent health care consultant and president of Health Policy and Strategy Associates in Virginia.

"For years, the nation has been embroiled in the political rhetoric of "Obamacare," but this past week the reality of the new law sank in as millions of Americans had their first good look at how the 3 1/2-year-old legislation will affect their pocketbooks."

"I really don't like the Republican tactics, but at least now I can understand why they are so pissed about this. When you take $10,000 out of my family's pocket each year, that's otherwise disposable income or retirement savings that will not be going into our local economy."

Ahh, and so it begins...

That's my point of view, what is yours?

Joe, pack your bag and hop on the bus taking all the tea swillers/spineless/gutless repubs to the land of ultra-conservative right-of-right wingnuts who can then establish a White's only/evangelical/gun slinging/I-me-mine universe where you'll all be very happy. Don't play the race thing with me...I'm White, faith-based, pro-American and proud of it, and a loyal Democrat who thinks tea swillers are doing the Devil's work here on earth...quite shoveling fear and lies...you're dead wrong, Joey!!

There is a lot of disinformation from both sides of the issue. Most Texans making less than the average per capita income ($39,493), will probably be better off. For the last ten premiums on health insurance have gone up at a rate higher than inflation. Insurance companies have been making record profits, at your expense.

Everyone has been paying for healthcare for the uninsured, it's being added to your bill.

Townidiot, you can have that giant "L" removed from your forehead so that only the people reading your posts would identify you as a loser.

This nation has reversed bad law before, prohibition is proof. Like prohibition, the ACA on it's surface appears to be for the betterment of a nations people, but in actuality the law both stymies our economy under a huge bureaucracy and dictates care. Prohibition redirected money into organized crime, the ACA law redirects money into a tax. (as defined by Supreme Court) Many are beginning to see this laws true consequences, Don won't see past race.

Where is your proof that the ACA on it's surface appears to be for the betterment of a nations people, but in actuality the law both stymies our economy ? You are just mad because you have been a medical freeloader all of your life and now, you will pay one way or another.

All of you nay-sayers just keep on flapping away...but gotta tell you one thing that is, so far, a well-kept secret...when the gov't. debt ceiling crashes, when the treasury cannot print checks or mail them out, everyone who might expect a Social Security check in their mailboxes after the 17th might just save themselves the time and forget the short walk for the mail...thanks to the 40 or so tea pathetic swillers in the House, the check will NOT be in the mail!! Great job, tea bags!

Don,

It ain;t the ACA that they will get free health care, it's OBAMACARE they will.

As you stated, "under the ACA to receive benefits you would have to be able to prove U S citizenship in the signup process."

So how does Ronald Reagan fit into Obamacare?

The Affordable Care Act (ACA) and ObamaCare are the same law....LMFAO

Ronald Reagan signed into law in 1986 a law that allows illegal immigrants to receive free medical care and that has been the law for 27 years now and the ACA or ObamaCare which ever you want to call it does not change that nor does it allow illegal immigrants to apply for insurance.

Give 'em time don..... Obamacare will sooner or later raise ALL healthcare insurances.

Yours is just not on their immediate 'to-do' list.

Of course, your company may very well just make your job part-time so as to drop you off their 'we pay 1/2 of your insurance' cost.

my employer received a huge rebate check from the insurance company because they violated the provision in the ACA or ObamaCare that requires all health insurance companies to spend 80% of all premiums that they charge on actual health care and not profits, advertisement, bonuses, CEO pay or stockholders.

I doubt that because my employer believes that having a well workforce cuts cost in sick leave and lost production saves the company tons of money.

Deaf stated, "the illegal aliens get free care", well deaf illegals will not be able to sign up for the ACA and you can thank Ronald Reagan for the illegals receiving free health care. Back in 1986 Reagan signed that into law and under the ACA to receive benefits you would have to be able to prove U S citizenship in the signup process. Why do you tell so many lies deaf?

Look at it this way.

When you buy car insurance, which is mandated, EVERYONE is supposed to buy it. True some try to skate around it but most do.

But with Obamacare the Unions and the federal government gets wavers and the illegal aliens get free care, and thus everyone else has to pay for their care!

Now There Is No Such Thing As A Free Lunch (TINSTAAFL) and thus someone, somewhere, somehow has to pay for it.

And so this liberal, Tom Waschura in California, just figured it out!

Idiots.

I sure wished the would put the names of their insurance companies on here or in the story cuz I would call those companies and ask if it is true or not. Anyone can say anything but when asked to prove it the clam up. I wonder why the Insurance that I have been paying $7,176.00 a year for which is 1/2 and my employer has been paying the the other half for a total of $14,353.00 annual for the past year has not increased one dime this year. I WONDER WHY THEIRS HAS AND MINE HAS NOT.

Wait until you get your new policy, Don, then get back to us, will ya?
And Good Luck to You!

I already have and my premiums are staying the same and not to mention my employer received a huge rebate check from the insurance company because they violated the provision in the ACA or ObamaCare that requires all health insurance companies to spend 80% of all premiums that they charge on actual health care and not profits, advertisement, bonuses, CEO pay or stockholders.
