Remember years ago when Ted Kennedy decided to put a whipping on rich people and had the yacht tax there in the northeast raised because taxes were too low.

What happened? People bought their yachts and moored them somewhere else leaving old Kennedy there at the cape slack-jawed.

Now, it happens again. Burger king pulled a fast one and I think it's brilliant, no matter what your politics.

Do you know the American business tax is the highest in the world at 39 percent? That's the way the liberals like it, business getting highly taxed.

Well, Burger King pulled what's called an inversion. Burger King buys some company we've never heard of in Canada which specializes in coffee and doughnuts, but the high-paid executives will stay in the U.S. while the corporate office will probably consist of a rotary phone and an administrative assistant named Pearl in Canada.

By doing this, Burger King will no long pay 39 percent in taxes. They will pay what Canadian businesses pay at 26 percent.

Can you believe Canada's business tax is lower than ours? Canada's business tax used to be higher, but their new Prime Minister
lowered it to create business.

And the tastiest part , it's being financed by the presidents frumpy buddy Warren Buffet. Buffet, Mr. "America needs pay more tax money," but his financing the deal which tell you that everybody is out for themselves.

Greater good be damned, Warren is making a pot load of money. The president complained when told the deal went through.

He said we should not be able to cherry pick our taxes. I also think we should not be able to pick what laws we enforce, but that hasn't bothered the president.

Burger King has it their way. I'll bet many other businesses are thinking of doing the same thing.

That's my point of view, what's yours?

Actually deaf, the housing bubble back in 2008 was NOT caused by Barny Frank (Democrat) who did head of the Finance committee but the law that allowed people to buy houses with no collateral was called the GLBA authored by Texas REPUBLICAN phil graham.
FDR's policies work great for 50 + years untill Ronald Reagan took office and started the same ole Republatard economic trickle down policies that created the Great Depression

Actually don, the housing bubble back in 2008 was caused by Barny Frank (Democrat) who has head of the Finance committee allowed people to buy houses with no collateral. Then when the gas prices hit $4 bucks a gallon many could not afford to even drive to work. And they were overextended trying to pay off house, car, boat, etc... and went bankrupt.

It was a replay of the 1930s Great Depression, which, BTW, FDR, like Obama, tried to spend their way out of it, and failed.

The gap between rich and poor really began to grow when the policies of ronald trillions of $$ spending reagan went into place.

I hate to correct your history but I will. The republicans controlled both houses of congress and the oval office for years prior to and during the Great Depression and that means their policies and laws passed by them caused the Great Depression and they also controlled both houses and the oval office for 6 years just prior to the Great Recession of 08 and that means their policies not Democrats.Trickle Down economics is a failure and always will be.

Little lesson deaf who passed the laws prior to 29 that allowed people to buy stocks 'on the margin', and thus created a huge bubble? The housing bubble back in 2008 was created by the repeal of the Glass-Steagall Act of 1933 by the GLBA authored by Texas REPUBLICAN phil graham and the The Commodity Futures Modernization Act also authored byTexas REPUBLICAN phil graham that allowed Toxic Derivatives to be traded (Credit Default Swaps) .

As an actual republican I must agree with Don everything he's said about derivatives is true. Our two senators from Texas voted for deregulation. Remember that when you vote for Cornyn. Personally I told him I would vote against him if he voted for the Patriot Act and TARP, and I will keep my promise to him.

Little lesson don. The Great Depression was caused by people buying stocks 'on the margin', and thus a huge bubble. They would buy 1000 shares at 10 bucks a share but only have to put down 10 percent. Thus they owed 90 percent and it was a unsecured loan. Much like the housing bubble back in 2008.

Was not the Republicans fault. BUT FDR, pushing socialist polices, drug that depression out for EIGHT years. Only WW2 pulled us out.

And we are doing it again with Obamanoimics.

Clinton and a republican congress legalized derivatives in 1998 Deaf, that led directly to the crash ten years later in 2008. Derivatives are still legal and still mostly unregulated. Soros is currently shorting the dollar. He's betting on another crash.

The tone of this article leads me to believe Neal supports tax evasion. Let's not mince words thats what this is. People like Neal and republican leadership can't accept the fact that Romney lost the election because of his offshore accounts and the fact that he pays a lower percentage of tax (15%) than my plumber. US corporations have effected the fascist coup they attempted during the FDR administration. Read up on Gen. Smedley Butler. You pay the tax they get the rebate.

Warren Buffett pays a lower rate than his secretary, but is a big buddy of the President. Yet he is making a killing out of this deal. You want to bad mouth Romney, why not just bad mouth your own group.

I am a republican wjss05. I served as a delegate to the republican convention. I exclusively talk about my own. I don't care what the democrats do. I'm talking about people like Cornyn and Cruz who run as republicans and aren't. I'm bad mouthing the idiot that thought Romney would sell to conservatives. I paid a higher percentage of tax than Romney. That's the point. Perhaps you should get help with Stockholm syndrome. You seem to be defending your abusers.

But Warren Buffett has called for congress to raise taxes on people like himself including himself. Has Romney? NO

Dave 1963, the Dimwitocrat:
Please let us know what tax deductions you won't write off. Also let us know how many thousands you employee in your business? Thanks, That's a good socialist lad.

I don't write a check for my tithe WTH I put cash in the offering plate. I missed the part in the bible that said tithe and take it off your taxes. I got stuck on the part that said your right hand shouldn't know what your left is doing.

Apparently the 1950's never happened in your world. How do you explain the greatest expansion in the history of the US at a time when marginal tax rates were 90%? Reagans dead. His theories are too. I voted for Ron Paul. Blame yourself for Obama.

How many do you employ and if any how many receive benefits from the Lone Star Card?

Good point don. Our tax dollars subsidize the largest corporations on the planet. The article fails to mention how much BK's employees currently receive in SNAP,CHIPS, and HUD benefits. When I worked at Walmart HR helped people fill out the applications. McDonalds is another good example. Companies come to Texas because wages are so low. Wages are so low because the republicans that have controlled the state like cheap Mexican labor. And they keep an open border while feigning a tough stance .

You hit the nail on the head dave

I think it's CVS that trying to move its corp. offices to Europe, Switzerland if I recall correctly. Romney ran on what he called a regional tax. Basically, if it's earned here it's paid here and if its earned elsewhere it's paid there. a few in the GOP now argue that, but to my limited knowledge none have really attempted to make it so. And the Dems don't seem to understand how it hurts jobs and prosperity in America, but then they don't seem to understand basic economics any way.

Well I don't know about that jp, after all it was republican economic policies that caused the Great Depression, and the Great Recession in 08 which caused use to lose 700 thousand jobs EACH MONTH of ole george WMD LIAR bushs' last year in office not Democrat economic policies.

Actually they BOTH were caused by way over extended credit lead by the federalist progressive ideals of the Fed and really bad money policy of there so called economic expertise. We're headed back in that direction again because of bad money policy of the fed. Under Odummy the gap between rich and poor is growing even more than it was before. But that's okay because he's black and a Dumbassocrat.

Besides, I never said the GOP was blameless.

I hate to correct your history jp but I will.

I have to agree with Burger King.

Keep jacking up the taxes and well, it's time to move on.

Go look at any socialist country. They are jack up the taxes and the places go to pot (some literally.)

And this is what the Tea Party is all about. Taxed Enough Already.
