I can usually count on New York Senator Charles Schumer to come up with some of the most ridiculous political diatribe. And once again, he does not disappoint.

While there is tension from both the left and right currently about the gun debate, Schumer uttered this Sunday.

Schumer calls on retailers to help curb gun violence. Senator Charles Schumer said, "It's hard to believe that Walmart, the nation's largest retailer, is being so irresponsible on this issue."

Speaking to press Sunday afternoon, Senator Charles Schumer called out Walmart and a half dozen of the nation's other largest gun retailers, urging them to temporarily halt the sale of semi-automatic weapons until Congress has time to consider new gun control legislation.

"Even if we were able to limit assault weapons and large magazine clips, we'll have to worry about hundreds of thousands of additional weapons on the street that will arrive in the next couple of months alone," Schumer said.

Really?

Charles, this is why they are selling like hot cakes.

The president addressed the gun debate today during a news conference. Mr Obama spoke of "common sense" gun laws.

Really? Whose common sense?

The same folks who told us we'd sign up million for health care and it would not cost anymore? What Washington D.C. has is a trust problem.

Many don't trust this federal government. You have an attorney general on tape saying years ago we need to brain wash people against guns like the government did cigarettes.

Brainwash. This shows you how out of touch they all are.

Yeah, sure. Gun makers and sellers will stop selling what is guaranteed from the 2nd amendment, so you can plot to take it away.

That's my point of view, what's yours?

I thought being afraid of NRA gun worshipers was as bad as it gets, but after the light went on, I realize that all of you have become the most fearful bunch of loud-mouthed pitiful revolt-spouting militia cammo-wearing bunch of poor thinking Americans this country has ever endured...you believe everyone is out to get you...check the definition for paranoid...all of you have bought into the faux news brand of fearmongering and are going to stroke out as your fear mounts...terrible way to end.

The NRA is not on the side of the citizens, they work for the gun and ammo manufacturs and are doing a great job at driving the cost of guns, ammo and stocks sky high. If you do just a little FACT checking of their propaganda with a non partisan source, you will find that about 80% of it is nothing but lies. I am a member of the NRA and have been for more than 30 years and in the last 10 to 15 years its all about how they can help drive up $.

A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed.
#1. the 2nd amendment does not state what kind of Arms you are allowed to keep.
#2. A well regulated Militia means there will be regulation imposed on the melitia (people) by the governing authority of the Malitia which means the government. The congress & President has the power afforded it by the Constitution to regulate the ARMS.

I like the idea of stiffer penalties for Gun Traffickers. Lets start with the F&F crowd.

This is a fight that is going to get ugly before its over with. Thank God for the NRA. If not for them, our communist in chief would have already done away with the 2nd amendment. I will encourage anyone whom cherishes your right to keep and bear arms, to join the NRA. They are the only organization powerful enough to fight the gun grabbers. Yes President Obama, I have "examined my conscience". Now why dont you examine your "common sense".

Thank God I don't follow rghall's God who must be a card-carrying teavangelical right-of-right repub NRA member...deaf smith and katie and others scream more and more guns, but rghall is the first to invoke God in the argument that the NRA is God-endorsed...protection is one thing, but stockpiling assault weapons, mega-round clips, cammo and shooting accessories as God's blessings?...well, that's a new one...and obscene!

Why can't people see what the government is trying to do. In this day and time you can have actors portray victims and show this on news media to get your point on guns across and no one now the difference. the only way they can keep people in line is start taking there rights away. And most people are ok with that if the government takes care of them. free this free that, just sit at home and wait for a check. there will always be evil people in the world. the actions of a few imprisoning others
