Double down on the Catholic church

tyler — When the Notre Dame University gave President Barack Obama an honorary law degree back in 2009, many catholics howled.
But, back then, the more moderate Catholics and others said, let us agree to disagree.
But, how strange is it that by giving the president a pass on the honorary degree, they
were the first one torpedoed when it came time to nail down the first plank of Obamacare.
Not every Catholic, but many went liberal years ago. How ironic their ox is the first one gored in the cultural fight.
Friday it seems that the president was walking back his plan. They said the insurance company's would pay for it.
I can tell you insurance companies never pay for anything, we do.
CNS news reports, Twenty-five Notre Dame faculty members--led by the university's top ethics expert, and including some of the school's most eminent scholars--have signed a statement declaring that President Barack Obama's latest version of his administration's mandate that all health insurance plans in the United States must cover sterilizations and all FDA-approved contraceptives, including those that cause abortions, is "a grave violation of religious freedom and cannot stand."
But if you watched the talking head shows over the weekend, the administrations stand was basically--- watch us.
Years ago, the Catholic church hierarchy made a deal to slide to the left, and now it must be stunned that they are the poster child for Obamacare at any cost.
That's my point of view, what's yours?

snydergal, I think you need to re-read my original post. I'm pro choice on everything, as long as it doesn't infringe on the rights of another. Stated plainly, I am for individual freedom and limited government. Only someone blinded by hatred and demagoguery could misinterpret that as being against women's freedom. And only someone who puts party over principle would stand for women's rights on abortion, but also advocate government control of contraception and healthcare issues.
If the establishment didn't need Rick Santorum (Catholic bedroom law guy) to beat Ron Paul so badly in Texas you'd never even have this issue.
Could anyone explain what brownsfans731 just said...absolutely no idea what this person said...don't know if this whatever is a conservative, liberal, teavangelical, or just ranting...
Charles, on the other hand, is off subject, which happens pretty often...
Freedom does not believe in a woman's freedom to make her own choice...to have dozens or children she can nurture, care for and afford, or have birth control part of her insurance policy.
Health care is not the issue. Birth control is not the issue. This issue is about government's use of force. Government should use force to make me do anything or prohibit me from doing anything, as long as I don't infringe upon the rights of another.
Maybe the Catholics can talk God into allowing Texas to have a primary election since it seems to be out of the power of our legislature to let us vote. A free election, yeah right, just like our free press.
My daughter works for a Catholic hospital. I am no longer a Catholic because they have been supporting abortion for many years. My granddaughter was born in a Catholic hospital last October. This thing will pass. But not for me. Life is life. Death is death The Catholic Church chose death many years ago and now they have to live with the choices they made. This is so sad. First they came for them - now they come for me.
