How about our families?

Tyler, Tx (KETK) — It seems rather odd that President Obama's administration is meeting about clamping down on other Americans law-abiding Americans rights to bear arms while giving his family all the protection they'll ever need.
This from yesterday's USA today: President Obama signed a law today granting lifetime Secret Service protection to former presidents and their wives.
As it stands now, the measure affects only two presidents -- Obama and predecessor George W. Bush. The bill approved by Congress reversed a 1994 law that had ended Secret Service protection 10 years after a president left office; it applied to presidents first elected after Jan. 1, 1997. I.e. Bush and Obama.
"A sponsor of the bill, Republican Rep. Trey Gowdy of South Carolina, says increased terrorist threats and the greater mobility and youth of former presidents made the change necessary."
"The new law also authorizes Secret Service protection for the children of former presidents until they turn 16."
Any president can turn down Secret Service protection after they leave office. But, during these tense times where many of us out here in flyover country want to be able to protect our families from the vermin who wish to do harm, the president makes sure he's covered.
Does his family deserve protection? Sure. But, so does mine. So does yours.
Once again, this president is tone deaf.
That's my point of view, whats' yours?
