How about some skin in the game

Here we are on Tax Day.

And still those with the song of the rich not paying enough taxes. Never mind the fact half of the country now doesn't pay taxes.

Maybe it's a stretch, but I believe it's many of those folks hating the so called rich for not paying their fair share.

I've been looking at all the cable news programs today and that's the talking point- make'em pay their fair share.

Well, I think taxes should be used to bring all Americans together. You see the tax code we have right now is too complex. And that's the way a lot of government pencil-pushers like it. But, I say a flat tax or a simpler tax code.

When I was a kid I didn't understand why we didn't take more elaborate vacations. I wanted to go everywhere the commercials on TV told people it was cool to go. Of course, I was a kid not realizing my parents, just like most of your parents, were busting their tail just trying to pay for the things parents pay for, plus thinking about one day I would need to go to college.

Its analogous to what's going on right now. One group saying others need to pay more, so they can have a better life. I say lets have all Americans have to pay a little if not more than a little.

Get some skin in the game. Then, let's see how everyone likes it.

That's my point of view, what's yours?

Grammie, you are a Republican and probably do not even realize it. I hope you are voting your best interests and appropriately.

i am a state employee, i chose to leave the corp work and took a 49% pay cut. i pay income taxes, medicare taxes and have to comtribute to a retirement fund of 7% which is not matched and chose to contribute to a 401k system which is also not matched therefore i feel i do contribute to the system, i pay to cover my family for there insurance coverage. I work many days and weeks over 40 hours which are not reimbursed i am a state servant and do contribute my fair share!

If the Liberal Progressives insist that the 50% of real adults support the children-in-adult bodies that refuse to do their fair share, we should remember that we do not allow children to vote. We should apply this rule to the grown children as well. You take food stamps, unemployment; disability checks them you forfeit your right to vote. The children should not be running the country or the inmates the asylum.

I'm ready to put Big Danny into office, he is right-on with this point, and it was the shared idea of our forefathers that property owners only be allowed to vote.

Also keep in mind that the 50% of us that do pay taxes are not only supporting the other 50% but we also have to pay for the salaries of ALL of the government employees in this country.

You are absolutely correct Russel and I'm glad to hear somebody else recognize that fact. A guy at the gym was complaining about his taxes yesterday and I know him to be a city employee making about twice what he's worth. I wanted to tell him that if he and other government employees just kept a reduced paycheck then, we could substantially cut government's size as there woud be no need to take his money only to give it back.
