TYLER — Now that we have passed the health care law and we have had time to read it, CEO' s and business owners are aghast at what's in.
The latest casualty Howard Schultz, the CEO of Starbucks.
At first he and other CEO's were all for the new health care law.
It sounded so good.
But now after looking all 2,000 pages over, he is starting to realize -like other sane people- that this law is oppressive to business.
Here is a statement he put out, "The way the bill is written under the current guidelines, the pressure on small business because of the mandate is too great."
Welcome to the party Howie. I guess he finally woke up and smelled the coffee.
The former head of the congressional budget office said this will be a pattern as time goes by.
Now readers of the law are finding it doesn't lower costs, it makes health care more expensive and it mires the business with new regulations.
And the money businesses will pay to the government can be spent hiring new employees.
Some Republicans are saying if those who want a new continuing resolution to keep the government up and running, they will have to throw out health care if they want to government to have more money to run.
And I can tell you that Howard Schultz, the head of Starbucks, will not be the last CEO that finally wakes up and says no way.
That's my point of view, what's yours?
