Tyler, Tx — Last night during half-time, Bob Costas chose to throw himself into the national discussion about another NFL tragedy.
I'm sure you heard by now, the sad story of the Dallas Cowboys nose tackle police say was driving drunk.
According to police, he got into a horrible crash and his Cowboys teammate was killed.
Enter Bob Costas once again. This time using former Coach Tony Dungy as a sounding board about athletes drinking and driving.
As bad as this accident was, and to in no way make light of the gravity of it all, not once did Costas say alcohol should be banned.
Police say that was a contributing factor into the fatal accident.
What about SUVs? Of course, I'm being ridiculous.
What about athletes being out too late at night? We didn't hear that from Bob either.
I did hear through all the noise Sunday, the players union have a deal if a player is overserved, all he has to do is call
a phone number and a car service will be there to pick him up.
But, some player said anonymously, if you do call the line, the team finds out about it and there will be heck to pay.
Do we need to speak about all this? Yes.
But, I am concerned when it come to an NFL player ending his life with a gun Costas quotes a write who wants to do away with guns and sees the NRA as the modern day KKK.
When it comes to drunk driving, he doesn't want to ban anything. This is just "bringing things to light."
When it comes to guns, he treats it differently. I think that is hypocritical.
That's my point of view, what's yours?
