I'll skip the village and leave it to mom and dad

Tyler, TX (KETK) — "We have to break through our private idea that kids belong to their parents or kids belong to their families," says the professor of political science at Tulane University, where she is founding director of the Anna Julia Cooper Project on Gender, Race, and Politics in the South. Kids belong to whole communities, she insists, and once we realize this we'll make "better investments" in government indoctrination of children.
Do you agree with that?
I posted this on my personal Facebook site last week and many people were outraged.
Our children don't belong to us?
Then, whom do they belong to? This is MSNBC host Melissa Harris in this promo.
She's a teacher at Tulane University in New Orleans.
It's come to this?
I know growing up my friends’ parents would help here and there.
Even dare I say, discipline me, if I was spending the night at their house and may be horsing around and breaking something.
But this, I think, goes way too far, and while we're raising a child in our village.
Interfere with that child when it acts up at the supermarket and see what happens.
Things really, to me, appear to be upside down.
That's my point of view, what’s yours?
