According to a Detroit newspaper...The city of Detroit will run out of cash a week from today if a lawsuit challenging the validity of a consent agreement is not withdrawn, city officials said this morning.

Detroit.
A city that was once so prosperous.

A city that once had the highest level of home ownership in the country.

Detroit -used to be the name just meant " getting it done."

Now...on the precipice of bankruptcy.

And you know what?

Let it happen.

Detroit has been plagued by plagues since the 1960s and 70s.

Lousy city government.

A corrupt mayor

Then- white flight.

It was a model of government planning running a city.

And it fell on it's keister.

Cleveland has pulled it's way back up.

Many cities have made a comeback...but Detroit...no.

So...maybe bankruptcy could be great for the city.

Some accountability.

Someone to come in with yes or no decisions and telling the folks there
here is how it's going to be.

That's what happens in bankruptcy.

Whoever lends you the money is boss.

Unemployment in Detroit is at 30%.

Illiteracy rates are at 50%.

No chain grocery store will open a store there.

Someone needs to take Detroit it over and turn it around..

The city is on life support.

Either it's time to help it.....or let it die.

So sad.

What a waste of a great city.

Detroit was dying in '75 when I moved from there. Social promotion in schools was rempant. Mayor Coleman Young was in constant political trouble, but managed to keep getting re-elected. The UAW was weilding too much power. A drug trafficer was making a mockery of the police. An example of the idea that a bad idea will work if you spend enough money on it.

Detroit is the result of the "victim" culture gaining control of the city's purse and law-making authority. This will ever be the case in any city as long as the "victim" culture is used in an attempt to structure cradle-to-grave entitlements as a form of reparations! The "victim" culture that has been nurtured by 50+ years of special treatment needs cold-turkey shock treatment. Then the members of that culture will see the need to be educated and to EARN their livelihood.

If one were to tell the true and politically incorrect story of Motor City they would face hate speech charges. But then isn't that how we hide the truth in free speech America, how we avoid dealing with the problem, how we let the nation our father's fought to build and defend fall into the hands of corruption; pretending we have free speech and open elections when actually, only a fool would believe so great a lie. America quit being America when John Wayne died. And that's the truth pilgrim.

Yeah,It has been reluctantly based on abstain to speech. One has to aware of his rights and emblem his powers.
