According to a Detroit newspaper...The city of Detroit will run out of cash a week from today if a lawsuit challenging the validity of a consent agreement is not withdrawn, city officials said this morning.
A city that was once so prosperous.
A city that once had the highest level of home ownership in the country.
Detroit -used to be the name just meant " getting it done."
Now...on the precipice of bankruptcy.
And you know what?
Let it happen.
Detroit has been plagued by plagues since the 1960s and 70s.
Lousy city government.
A corrupt mayor
Then- white flight.
It was a model of government planning running a city.
And it fell on it's keister.
Cleveland has pulled it's way back up.
Many cities have made a comeback...but Detroit...no.
So...maybe bankruptcy could be great for the city.
Someone to come in with yes or no decisions and telling the folks there
here is how it's going to be.
That's what happens in bankruptcy.
Whoever lends you the money is boss.
Unemployment in Detroit is at 30%.
Illiteracy rates are at 50%.
No chain grocery store will open a store there.
Someone needs to take Detroit it over and turn it around..
The city is on life support.
Either it's time to help it.....or let it die.
What a waste of a great city.
That's my point of view what's yours?
