High level Democrats have the full-court press on.

They see the overall public's interest about gun control is starting to wane.

So, here are some of all the outlandish so-called and “facts” and figures.

The President is out saying 40 percent of all guns bought have no background checks.

He keeps repeating that over and over.

The Washington Post, certainly a house organ for this administration, by pure accident, started practicing journalism and looked into the President’s claims.

Come to find out, knock me over, the president is not telling the truth.

Look again. This comes from the Washington Post.

The numbers are about two decades old, yet he acts as if they are fresh, and he refers to "purchases" or "sales" when in fact, the original report concerned "gun acquisitions" and "transactions." These figures comes from a 1997 Institute of Justice Report.

The post goes on to investigate. They report, we found that the survey sample was just 251 people. (The survey was done by telephone, using a random-digit-dial method, with a response rate of 50 percent.) With this sample size, the 95 percent confidence interval will be plus or minus six percentage points.

Moreover, when asked whether the respondent bought from a licensed firearms dealer, the possible answers included "probably was/think so" and "probably not," leaving open the possibility the purchaser was mistaken. (The "probably not" answers were counted as "no.")

The poll was a mess. The President reports it as 100 percent fact.

Believe what you will about the gun debate. That is your right.

Just make sure you have the facts, which are pretty hard to come by now a days.

That's my point of view, what's yours?

Are you seriously bashing facts that are out dated? Yet, if this conversation was about marijuana you and all of the "extremist" rights would be recalling facts from the early to mid 80's. That is the pot calling the kettle black if you ask me.

All you people care about is your "right" to carry weapons and everything that will help you. Who cares about the people dying from the guns? Who cares about millions going to the cartels from the illegal sales of guns?

this country is bass akwards

Gun makers have posted record sales and profits the last five years. And so far, not one federal agent has knocked on my door in an attempt to confiscate my firearms. I think if the mainstream media is acting as an agent for anyone, it's gun makers. I know right wing pundits call anyone who doesn't believe everything they say "sheep". But it looks to me like the American public is just buying the narrative of gun confiscation w/ no facts to back it up. That's my point of view.

" the president is not telling the truth".. well it's not the first time President Pinocchio has lied.

The progressives simply want to ban guns, no more, no less, so if there is any civil unrest their DHS, with billions of rounds of ammo at 1200 armored cars can crush it. And what is why we have the 2nd Amendment, so the government can't crush rightful dissent.

By now, even the most ignorant of Americans has learned that our fascist socialist government gives us the "heads-up" by announcing what is to come as a "poll result".
