Live for more than ourselves

If you enjoy military stuff like I do, then you need to read this book.

It's called "No Easy Day".

It was writtne by one of the Navy Seals who killed Osama Bin Laden.

His real name of course is not used. He wrote the book under the pen name of "Mark Owen".

I know there have been repercussions from the book.

Director of Defense, Leon Panetta, says he may punish the writer, but Mr. Panetta needs to cool his jets.

There is nothing in the book that is super secret.

It's about the course of events that lead to the fateful day of getting Bin Laden.

My favorite part is about how stupid Bin Laden's brother was. If you've ever seen the movie "Sergeant York", you'll really enjoy that part.

Toward the end of the book, Mark Owen says people ask him all the time how they can better serve our country... most of these folks could never be a navy seal or serve on that sort of level.

Owen makes two great suggestions:

First, he says "don't just live, but live for a bigger purpose than yourself."

Boy, do a lot of us need to hear that.

He says "be an asset to family, community and country."

The second suggestion is to donate time and money to an organization which supports wounded warriors.

You have a chance to that this Saturday in Tyler.

KETK is proud to be one of the many sponsors presenting a sporting clays shoot benefiting Texas Wounded Warriors.

It's at Rose City Flying Clay shooting range on Smith County Road 485 off North Loop 323 in Tyler.

The shoot lasts all day, and the Warriors get there about 11:00. They'll shoot too.

Sign up to be on a shooting team, or just drop by and say thank you. They have done so much for us, and we need to give back to them.

That's my point of view whats yours?

"Almost 2,400 Millionaires Pocketed Unemployment Benefits"

Almost 2,400 people who received unemployment insurance in 2009 lived in households with annual incomes of $1 million or more, according to the Congressional Research Service.

Thank You Neal.

My Lai, Viet Nam.

This is not true. The soldier & officer oath says nothing about questioning the government ; in fact the President is the commander in chief & must be obeyed. or you are court martialed. The soldier must support the Constitution as well .
The way the enemy hijacks the constitution for their own purpose is by the religion & discrimination parts.Bin Lauden(who has a Master Harvard) "We will defeat you by your own Constitution"

That is where YOU are wrong...WE must not follow obama. WE must protect the United States against foreign and domestic ENEMIES and obama is the ENEMY.

A soldier by oath is required to question the government he serves, vigilant in his watch for insurrection, to protect this nation from an enemy within. The enemy knows this and hijacks the message of patriotism through media. As the shadow government takes this nation into world war, never forget how we got there. It is not because we supported what we thought to be good, but because we believed a media that was bad. Supporting the troops does not mean killing them in foreign wars of lucre.
