McChrystal to the woodshed

If you write or follow politics at all, you know this past year and a half has been anything but boring.
I've never seen so much grist for the mill.
And now the latest.
The top general in Afghanistan, Stanley McChrystal, spills the beans about the commander in chief to Rolling Stone magazine.
Now Rolling Stone has come a long way from its hippie roots.
But what does an American general think he is doing talking to Rolling Stone, especially being critical of this president.
Knock me over with a feather. McChrystal said when he met with the president that the president seemed uninformed and distant.
Really...a lot like the oil spill crises.
The article says McChrystal and some of his senior advisers are quoted speaking derisively of top administration officials, often in sharply flippant terms.
An anonymous McChrystal aide is quoted as calling National Security Adviser James L. Jones a "clown," who remains "stuck in 1985."
The story also features an exchange in which McChrystal and some of his aides appear to mock Vice President Biden.
And now McChrystal is being summoned to the White House.
And he should be summarily fired.
Obama is the commander and chief.
Maybe the general can go and spend the rest of his career in Alaska.

McChrystal should have been tried and locked up in a military prison and given a less than honorable discharge
A little harsh, don't you think? But sadly, I agree that the General must go. After all, he's a blatant liberal who voted for Obama and he has placed serious restrictions on our soldiers in Afghanistan. The rules of engagement that McChrystal has placed on our military has caused the deaths of numerous servicemen and women; all to please our Commander in Chief. Untie the hands of our military and let them do their jobs.
You know Neal, I have thought about this all day and wondered why McChrystal would do such a thing such as going to Rolling Stone Magazine and giving his thoughts about this administration. I believe that he had to have weighed the consequences before doing this, knowing full well it would be insubordination and probably be fired too. I believe that he was selfless in telling the American people what the truth is regarding this war and this administration. He might be braver than we think.
