More "less government"

What do you think has made America great?

First of all, during the 1st and especially 2nd World Wars, our young men and women saved the world.

Liberal activist Van Jones says the creation of labor unions have made America great.

The president just said government investment has made America great.

Translated--- government in your life makes America great.

Let me add, sure we need government. We need an army and roads. You get past that with me and I need fewer things from Uncle Sugar.

Because once "ol' Sam" gets his foot in the door, he's a pushy as a traveling salesman.

A new Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey finds that just 27% of Likely U.S. Voters agree that government investments made America great. Forty-two percent (42%) disagree, but a sizable 32% are not sure.

Those are the folks who don't know branches of government, but know the names of all the Kardashians.

The thing that has made America great is free enterprise in my opinion.

Build the better mousetrap. You can succeed.

But now success has become a dirty word. Anyone who prospers must have been a crook.

That's the new language of Washington.

How come he's rich and I, not.

I'll want what's his instead of trying and trying again to prosper yourself.

Phillips is touting their $60 light bulb which is supposed to last longer and use less electricity.

They tout themselves as innovator when they were the only company that jumped at the Bush administration's idea for a better bulb.

How about letting the market lead the way, not crony capitalism like Solyndra et, al.

Most Americans are right. The reason we are great is because of less government intrusion.

But more and more it's becoming a nanny state and that is the eventual road to ruin.

That's my point of view, what's yours?

That is what created the middle class.

Government passing labor laws and the unions working with corporations to ensure that employees receive a fair share of the profits in most states. Texas is not one of them.

There is no "fair share" of profits between a corporation and an employee. There is only the price at which someone is willing to do the work the corporation wants done.

God made America great and God will judge her for her sins!

Did God say that only Jews can control our economy and media?

Bravo, Neal! And thanks for including Bush in your rant as well. This problem is not just a D vs R problem. BOTH old parties think the answer to every problem is more government - just their party's version of it, and to favor their political backers.

The only way to end this level of corruption is to remove the power. Power corrupts. As long as politicians are able to use force to achieve their goals, they will do so. Gov't force, even if for "good" is immoral and unconstitutional.

Good analysis! And right now the one agency wielding the govt power to the greatest satisfaction of those who would enslave our economy and us is the EPA. At best, Congress should eliminate the agency along with a host of others; at the worst, Congress must take back the law-making authority they gave this run-amok bureaucracy!
