Tyler, TX — This story still sticks in my craw. It's still a news story, but not as big as it should be.
We mentioned yesterday Bob Woodward took on this administration. He said all the hype about what sequestration was going to do was madness.
He mentioned he even got an angry phone call from an administration aide who screamed at him on the phone for 30 minutes.
Woodward reported this official, who has been named but no one except insiders knows, who he is told Woodward "you'll regret doing this."
In other words, a threat.
Woodward, a darling of the left, bravely went on a few cable talk shows and shared this story. That prompted an apology from the White House aide.
But, can you imagine the political fire storm if Karl Rove or Dick Cheney would have threatened Mr. Woodward? There would be impeachment hearings Friday.
In all fairness, Woodward accepted this Obama aide's apology. In fact, he said there was no need to apologize.
Woodward is used to the rough and tumble world of politics.
Funny, Woodward didn't back down when Nixon was acting strangely. Woodward raged against the machine and seems to be taking a softer tone now.
But, where are his fellow journalist?
Well, instead of praising his bravery, they are all on left-wing blogs discrediting him and calling his senile. Saying he's too old for this fast game.
In other words, how dare he take on the White House and get in the way of their scare-sequestration show.
There is a new poll which came out today. It says only 6% of the nation says the news media is trustworthy.
I think this story is a reason why.
That's my point of view, what's yours?
