tyler — A lot of back and forth about the president's speech last night.
Troubling for me was when he introduces a jobs bill with no specifications. Just pass the bill and we'll get into what's in it two weeks from now.
Does this remind you of the health care bill at all?
You have to pass it to see what's in it.
Its like me going to a men's clothing store to get a blue suit.
"Sir, I'd like a blue suit." Clerk: "Yes, that'll be 500 dollars."
Me: "I'd like to look at it and try it on."
Clerk: "It will be fine in two weeks, will that be cash or card?"
C'mon, this is more stimulus, but stimulus is a dirty word like global warming went out of style.
This is reinvestment. All the stuff we paid for before, all the green jobs kaput.
Where is that money?
Also, this president wants 400 billion dollars for this?
Government always overruns.
Just double that.
But, here is the dirty little secret. No Republican House is going to vote for this.
And the president knows it. He knew it when he was working hard on this plan at Martha's Vineyard.
The Republicans are going to shoot it down and the video from last nights campaign speech, or TV show, or whatever it was, will be used for the general election coming up in a year.
All this was, was a political show with the capitol as a backdrop.
How did the market like the speech?
Today it tanked.
In the meantime, you see this?
The U.S. Senate defeated an attempt by Republicans to slow down a $500 billion increase in the federal government's borrowing limit in a vote that means the borrowing limit is immediately hiked to $15.19 trillion.
Keep your eye on this bunch.
That's my point of view, what's yours?

Foolishness is the outcome of any complex system of government that (1) ignores the needs and will of the people, (2) consumes the resources of the people contrary to both law and ethics (3) sees itself as distinct from and better than the people and (4) regards itself as invulnerable. Thus, the seeds of its own destruction have been sown. It is not enough to recognize the disease. We must also determine the cure and apply it.
The party of "NO" wouldn't sign on to any plan (except doing away with SS, Medicare & Medicaid) proposed by President Obama for the single purpose of defeating him. Teapublicans don't care about America, it's people, or the tradition of working together to find solutions to pressing problems. POV, the voice for ultra-conservative evangelical religious right rhetoric without even an ounce of conciliatory support for anything that will move this country forward in a fiscally responsible manner.
Look at it this way, the "teapublicans" are a threat to the aristocratic way of life and power of the old guard in Washington, both Republicans, especially leftist Democrats,(not neccesarily the bluedog Democrats), and the wannabe aristocrat in the Whitehouse. So to guard their place they MUST demonize us be out and out lying about our stand, misquote, threaten the elderly and minorities, and wholely trust in the unquestioning devotion of the poor that follow them.
Because this president, like the three before him, have so very little real duties other than being a figurehead, campaigning is all that he knows. The real governemnt (shadow government) that calls the shots is busy creating take-over strategies of all kinds from foreign governments to American industry. The flimsy appeasement jobs speech Obama gave the other night is but an excuse to hit the campaign trail and appear to be busy on policy. Achtung! You are permitted to vote for Rick Perry.
