No, we're not here to get your gun

Tyler, Tx — It is amazing how a federal law, the 2nd Amendment, has been hijacked by some state governments.
Right now, unless stopped, Colorado is on the way to an all-out black rifle ban or at least magazine capacity ban.
But, when I read this Monday, my jaw dropped, but shouldn't when you consider what's going on in our country.
If you don't think there is an effort to grab guns, I think you are mistaken.
This from the Seattle times:
You always hear the liberals scoff and say "it's not like the cops are going to go door to door to get your guns."
Well, in Washington state, a badly-written bill was proposed to do just that.
Here is the language:
"In order to continue to possess an assault weapon that was legally possessed on the effective date of this section, the person possessing shall safely and securely store the assault weapon. The sheriff of the county may, no more than once per year, conduct an inspection to ensure compliance with this subsection."
In other words, come into homes without a warrant to poke around. Failure to comply could get you up to a year in jail.
Now the senator who co-authored the bill is running away from that saying that part got by him. That's not what it meant.
Even a liberal trial lawyer the paper interviewed about this story says it was an Orwellian piece of legislation, and he understand why talk like this makes people-- in his words-- "run into the arms to the NRA."
Now, the Democrats up there say they will write a new bill. Isn't this a whole lot like the health care bill.
No one knew what was in that either.
That's my point of view, what's yours?
