Neal Barton's POV

Obsessed with Petraeus, but not the dead

I don't know if you have been following the Petraeus mess, but I have to.

What a nasty mess. I'll bet he'd rather face the Taliban right now rather than Mrs. Petraeus.

I am so sick of the sleaze coming out of the place where this country is supposed to have its trust.

It wasn't 30 minutes last Friday after the Petraeus scandal broke, that one of the cable channels had some pinhead psycho babbler on about "the general was a long way from home for years and this sort of thing had to happen."

Really? Not once has anything called this bad wrong immoral.

Folks just love the juice. Now, another general is caught up in the same scandal. He's reportedly tied to another woman. Then, reports of an FBI agent sending shirtless pictures of himself to the same person the Marine general is tied to. This, all after secret service agents have been showing their back sides.

It was said General Eisenhower had a squeeze on the side and intimated General Patton fooled around on his wife. That was speculation. But at least back then it was hush-hush because it was wrong.

The media now is having a field day with this Petraeus deal. And will for some time.

But, what fascinates me, isn't this just sex? That's what we were told about Bill Clinton.

I know national security could be threatened if a woman or man would blackmail a person in power. Like JFK and Judith Exner.

But, all this hullabaloo, and I assure you the national media is just getting warmed up.

All this, and there are still 4 dead people from Benghazi and no one cares about that.

Four American heroes murdered by our enemy and that national media kicks that under the rug like a cockroach on the floor during a Christmas party.

That's a damn shame.

That's my point of view, what's yours?

You are talking about 4 U S citizens but what about the WMD lie by Bush and the GOP that is responsible for, As of May 18, 2011, 4770 American servicemen that were KIA in Iraq?

Joseph Stalin got rid of problematic Generals with much less drama.

Isn't the whole point to sweep Benghazi under the rug? I think there is a lot more than a sex scandal going on here. Why would Ms. Kelly ruin her own reputation and lives of so many people over anonymous "threatening"
emails, an especially fortuitous time for this to hit the fan, don't you think ? I smell some rats.

Like Bernie Goldberg said, the mainstream media didn't care about it until it involved sex and that's all they will focus on. Benghazi will remain ignored (afterall, it isn't an Obama fluff story) and somehow Bush will get the blame.
