Other people's money

We've caught them at it again.

You hear so many hard luck stories these days about the VA hospitals around the country. I've heard our nation's veterans tell me stories which have made me mad the way our warriors have been treated.

Then I've heard VA workers say they don't have enough money to get the job down right. But when you work for the federal government there is always enough of someone else's money to throw around.

This is from the Washington Guardian:

Its budget and facilities already stretched thin, the Veterans Affairs Department wasted money on two summertime training conference to the vacation hot spot of Orlando, Fla., that cost taxpayers more than $6 million and let federal employees collect freebie gifts like meals, helicopter tours, limo rides, massages and show tickets from contractors, an internal investigation has found.

The VA's inspector general concluded top agency officials failed to be good stewards of taxpayer money throwing conferences last year, including spending nearly $50,000 to create a parody video featuring the late Gen. George Patton.

In all, federal investigators concluded about $762,000 of the money spent on the two events in July and August 2011 was wasteful, undercutting their legitimate human resources training mission for the conferences.

That's the hard lesson for liberals and socialists.

One day, they'll run out of someone else's money to spend.

That's my point of view, what's yours?

We thoroughly enjoy your pov segment. Always watched another station, until we discovered pov. We now tape 56 news at 6:00, just because of you. We are disgusted at what the "media" has become. You are appreciated.
Tom

this is so sickening. It boggles the mind.
Are all of our employees without a conscience??

Should a time ever return when children are educated then, let the term oligarachy replace what is now called democracy.

Blowing our own money is one thing, we had to borrow the money to do this. What's the interest on $762,000?
Not a problem. Some one will retire or be moved to another position and everything is all better.
Maybe we'll just Tax everyone a bit more.
