tyler, tx — I got a voicemail from a viewer from this past weekend.
He was on me about being negative. As always, I look for constructive criticism.
And I started thinking what's positive. What's positive is we have an election and can perhaps change the way the direction the country is moving.
Our ambassador and three consulate guards have been killed. We don't know the whole story yet. There is still conflicting stories from the administration.
Gasoline prices are still unmercifully high. We had people in the newsroom giddy about gas perhaps going down 50 cents a gallon this winter-- perhaps.
They say that is good. But that means gas will still be $2.90 a gallon. Is that positive?
The price of everything is up because the price is fuel is so high. Is that good?
The unemployment numbers are just were the were when the president took office. This, after all the shovel ready stimulus. Is that good?
The biggest, in my opinion, strong dictators in the world are endorsing president Obama for re-ection.
We're talking Chavez, Castro and Putin. Is that good?
We have 16 trillion dollars in debt. I know that's not good.
The country is suffering from a similar malaise it was in the late 70s when Jimmy Carter was president. We've lost our role as leader in the world. That's not positive.
We're the best nation in the world. Now, that's good.
Leading from behind doesn't work. That's not good.
So, sir, .thank you for helping write this commentary. You're right. We need some good news. But you want to keep things on the same road.
I think we need change in the other direction. I think that would be good.
That's my point of view, what's yours?
