If you are a politician you better know now-a-days, even if you're speaking at the Apple springs, Texas FFA awards someone is recording what you say.
And man can that come back and haunt.
Enter democratic North Carolina Governor Bev Perdue. She recently spoke at the rotary club to make a few remarks while people gnaw on their rubber chicken and peas.
And while she was chatting up the audience she drops this bombshell, suggesting this week that Congress suspend its elections next year to concentrate on fixing the economy.
Did you hear what I said? She said let's suspend this years election, and let's just keep everything and everyone in place and lets fix this economy.
Forget that little rag called the Constitution. Let's just keep it like it is.
You can imagine the firestorm this has created.
And once the fruit salad at the lunch hit the fan, she tried to goggle back those words and say she was kidding.
No one bought it. Then, she tried to say it was sarcasm. No takers.
Her staff told the North Carolina newspaper- every now then she likes to stray off script.
We like to keep on "on-script."
Perhaps this was a Freudian slip?
You can Google this story for yourself. There is also audio available on the internet. When she said this there was no laughing.
The problem is many see a political storm brewing that may not be in their favor. Of course they want things like they are.
A year before an election is a lifetime. Nothing is certain.
But, to me , this shows that many are tired of this representative republic thing is getting in the way of us who hold the cards and the power.
That's my point of view, what's yours?
