Neal Barton's POV

Shhhh, you have an exemption

There is a new chapter in the Obamacare implosion and chances are it's one you don't know about it and that is on purpose.

It has been entertaining this week to watch administration acolytes try and explain that the uninsured-- mainly young people, the target of Obamacare --that everything is hunky dory.

You have HHS Kathleen Sebelius this week saying success is millions signing up for Obamacare. The latest numbers say only 4 million have signed up so far.

But, now they say there was no threshold. Rewind to about six months ago when ol' Kathy was on NBC news with Brian Williams on tape saying they needed at least seven million to make this work. She and others are denying that was ever said, even though you can find it all over the "www."

A few weeks ago businesses again got a waiver from implementing Obamacare another two years, so people would not go into the 2014 voting booth mad because they just saw their insurance canceled and their rates skyrocketing.

But late last week in the ol' Friday night document dump, there it was hidden in the docs. The Wall Street Journal reports this: Last week, the administration quietly excused millions of people from the requirement to purchase health insurance or else pay a tax penalty.

This latest political reconstruction has received zero media notice, and the Health and Human Services Department didn't think the details were worth discussing in a conference call, press materials or fact sheet. Instead, the mandate suspension was buried in an unrelated rule that was meant to preserve some health plans that don't comply with Obamacare benefit and redistribution mandates. Our sources only noticed the change this week.

It's easy. You're on the honor method. You just have to say Obamacare is a hardship and you're off the hook for two more years.

This thing is tanking.

That's my point of view, what's yours?

News flash.. Obamacare leaves Las Vegas man owing $407,000 in doctor bills

"Las Vegan Larry Basich paid the premium on his Nevada Health Link insurance plan in November, but as of Feb. 25, it wasn't clear who was covering Basich. The retired civil engineer had a triple bypass on Jan. 3 and now has $407,000 in medical bills." From Mark Damon/Las Vegas Review-Journal.

Hope for change in 2014. Vote ALL who voted for Obamacare OUT!

Nobody believes the press anymore and nobody believed you ever.

I agree with Deaf about exemptions for young adults. A health savings account would be a better idea. I started paying insurance premiums on a catastrophic health plan back in 1978. It's called medicare. Boy did I get hosed! Individual savings accounts would keep grubby little fingers out of people's health care money.

Well if that's not the pot calling the kettle black ! Our braggart Yankee who has lied about everything he's ever posted now calls good old Paul a liar. Remember that polished education and high IQ you claimed to have, or that you are a social worker/television weatherman. Maybe it was the prof. who told you to keep learning so you google your higher education. {how pathetic} We know you're an Obamacare Navigator, an affirmative hire who comes to this site to sell your wares. You're the liar !

There are more but the one I like the most is.....

Your individual insurance plan was cancelled and you believe other Marketplace plans are unaffordable.

Hahahahaha.. yea it says that Idiot..

Hope for change in 2014. We gonna own the town after November.

You recently experienced the death of a close family member.
You experienced a fire, flood, or other natural or human-caused disaster that caused substantial damage to your property.
You filed for bankruptcy in the last 6 months.
You had medical expenses you couldn’t pay in the last 24 months.
You experienced unexpected increases in necessary expenses due to caring for an ill, disabled, or aging family member.

Hardship exemptions

If you have any of the circumstances below that affect your ability to purchase health insurance coverage, you may qualify for a “hardship” exemption:

You were homeless.
You were evicted in the past 6 months or were facing eviction or foreclosure.
You received a shut-off notice from a utility company.
You recently experienced domestic violence.
You recently experienced the death of a close family member.

You’re a member of a recognized health care sharing ministry
You’re a member of a recognized religious sect with religious objections to insurance, including Social Security and Medicare
You’re incarcerated, and not awaiting the disposition of charges against you
You’re not lawfully present in the U.S.

From the Obamacare website:
You may qualify for an exemption if:
You’re uninsured for less than 3 months of the year
The lowest-priced coverage available to you would cost more than 8% of your household income
You don’t have to file a tax return because your income is too low (Learn about the filing limit.)
You’re a member of a federally recognized tribe or eligible for services through an Indian Health Services provider

I got on Obama Care yesterday. They advised I will have to pay $361.00 a month. I get a $78.00 a month subsidy a month which knocks my payment to $283.00 a month with a $6,000.00 deductible. Our pals in Washington make three times what I make each year. They voted to give themselves a $10-$11,000.00 subsidy, which sounds like they don't have to pay anything for health ins. and no deductible. Should this be turned around and if you make less you should get a bigger subsidy ?

Well, what does a young healthy person like you need $283./mo. for anyway?

It wasn't too long ago Obama threatened to veto legislation passed by the House to postpone the individual mandate, now he's done just that through executive order. Carney denies it political. Of course he's covering, that's his job.

The funny clip is of the one where Sebelius said she didn't know where they came up with the 7 mil. number and the House Rep told her it was the number she gave. Now she's trying to say she said something different. Time to go to the play book that accuses her 7mil. quote is hate speech.

Nowhere is it better proved that we are a nation of laws with no rules than with the ACA. From day one Pelosi granted her contributors exemptions and now that enrollment has been so horrible, the law will be postponed for some another 2 years. Those who post in here with their gov. paid insurance, the affirmative hires who support Obama regardless, we non-socialist know this exemption will not include us, for to do so we must prove that we were cancelled and no comparable gov. plan exists

This healthcare debacle is not about healthcare at all. It is about the taking over of the U.S. by taking her down financially. He is already taking us down militarily. That's why Putin has made his move and many more will follow suit. BTW, the Malaysian jet was hijacked. Anyone including a moron can see that. This country is educated beyond its intelligence.

Well since it turns out EVERYONE can get an exemption, I suggest all YOUNG people do just that!

Since they rarely see a doctor all they really need is catastrophic insurance anyway.

So all those young Obama voters can now vote with their feet (or wallet) and bankrupt Obamacare.

Hope for change in 2014. It's looking good folks, real good!
