Shock waves through the Republican Party

Last nights election sent a political shock wave here in East Texas and around the nation.

The old Texas Republican establishment must be scratching their heads at just what went wrong.

What went wrong to begin with was like many of their Democratic co-horts, somewhere about 30 or 40 years ago they quit listening to the people.

Politicians are like salmon swimming upstream. The find the easiest way to go.

Now that Republicans control Texas politics, some have sat back and taken the will of the people for granted.

I'm sure many politicians would disagree with what I'm saying, but what you are speaks so loudly I can't hear what your saying.

I'm just speaking for myself, but being in Austin has gotten as cool as being in Washington D.C.

Most of Texas wants conservative leadership. The power brokers say that's what they are doing, but are they?

David Dewhurst was a moderate. Yet many of the politicians who beat their chests about conservative values endorsed Dewhurst. A lot of our local state politicians.

If the election would have been in the spring Dewhurst would have won, but the redistricting fight pushed it to the summer. During the extended time, Grassroots and Tea Party folks mobilized for Cruz.

Many people in Texas said we don't care who you have drinks with at Holts Beer Garten in Austin. We want leadership.

A left-leaning friend of mine last night asked me "how do we make politicians listen to us?"

I said it's easy, just start.

Look what Grassroots and the Tea Party folks did.

Ever been to a meeting? It's people like you and me. I've spoken there. They are incredibly organized.

Don't listen to my buddies in the media. They hate the Tea Party and Grassroots. Because many of my media buddies think they should be vetting and helping candidates get elected.

Not little old you.

Last night was a perfect example of what happens when people get involved.

That's my point of view, what's yours?

The best thing about Obama is that he & his arrogant ,"Chicago-thug" politics awoke America. We all voted for him in the hopes that a black man WOULD do all the things he promised. Alas, twas not to be.
A good lesson to many people who are so blase about politics.
Yes, we did get involved...after never being involved before...
Read Obama's books & Alinsky Book. See what it says.

Just wondering what sparrowhead, ol' chucky and, of course hot-air balloon wooooooster will do when you wake up Nov. 7th to a re-elected president...none of you tout willard mitt as your candidate, just lots of un-American, disrespectful and dangerously hateful garbage's very lonely being the only person (besides "Don") who gives a darn to challenge all you clowns and inject truth into a conversation that will never, in a million years, cause any of you elders and deacons to agree.

you are stupid and un-American if you believe what you typed. It is apparent that you do not believe in the U. S. Constitution

Don...please clarify that you are not calling me un-American...we seem to be the only two who have the guts to stand up to the likes of those with a woooooster mentality.

Don, every time you post I am reminded that simpletons are attracted to this site.

you are great at describing yourself and trying to attach your attributes to others

Dang right Neal...... The Tea Party has exposed the RINO's and we are voting them out. The elite status that politicians have assumed on taxpayers backs is coining to a stop. The NDSP" new democratic socialist party" which is obama's party must be vote out are else's the United States of America will fall!
The USA is a nation of Christians which America saw the support for Chick-Fil-A CEO Mr. Cathy. Islam/muslims must and will be stopped! God Bless the U.S.A.
